Ok, so despite my all my good intentions, I actually didn't make it to the "good Samaritan" portion of the San Francisco Food Bloggers Food Bank Day last Saturday.
But I did make it to the after party!
Yield Wine Bar is in a part of San Francisco that I didn't even know existed- even though I drive by it twice a day. Well, that might be a little too strong- I thought that Dogpatch was just full of warehouses where I would go to Sally Spicer trunk shows and buy pretty purses for people on my Christmas List. Well, now that the N-Judah is going to Dogpatch, you should as well, and check out Yield. Yield is so casual and familiar- you almost feel like you are in someone's SOMA loft...and that they have quite a bit of wine...and big parties...with lots of people who drink. I like the way the bigger space is divided up as well- couches in one room, and high tables spaced a bit apart in the other. There almost looks like there would be space for dancing- which happens frequently after consuming wine in SOMA lofts.
Yield also might have felt familiar because of the cool people I was meeting and seeing there. I met Tea, who I have already linked to on my blog- and two cool new people as well. Sean from Hedonia has just had the one-year anniversary of his blog. And I always love people who have left the east-coast (Schenectady, and has spent a lot of time in Rhode Island) for the warmer climates of California. I also met Jen from Life Begins at 30. Since that is the age I will be turning this year (calm down, not till November...) I guess I best start reading away. Jen just had an awesome trip to Vietnam and we chatted about her recent dinner party where she fed 16 in her one bedroom apartment.
And it was a pleasure to meet you as well! Are you a Rhode Islander?
