I never know what to do when someone asks me a question in my comment box. Should I write a comment back to answer it, or should I start a whole new post? I guess you know which one I've picked:

My good friend Sarah asked me how many of the 28 Michelin starred restaurants I'd been to. The answer:

drum roll please...

16.

They are:

Aqua (my friend Lindsay's 19th birthday)
Manresa (because our friend Aaron worked there)
Michael Mina (my 28th birthday)
Fleur de Lys (our 5 year anniversary)
Rubicon (Mom's b day)
Quince (my 27th)
La Folie (Mom's b day)
Masa's (before a play)
Ritz Carlton Dining Room ( Lindsay's 27th)
Gary Danko (my 25th and our 4th)
Boulevard (my 16th)
Fifth Floor (our 3rd)
Chez Panise (our 1st)
Chez TJ (before my junior year homecoming dance- one of my first dates with Felix!)
Bistro Jeanty (fun trip to Napa)
Bouchon (fun trip to Napa)

Yes, my stomach has a good life...

I mosey-ed over based on Sam's recommendation and was SHOCKED to learn that there is another actor/acting teacher/food blogger right here in my own back yard (I mean, really, what are the chances of that?). Hooray! (And thanks for pimping Cal Shakes -- I used to run their summer youth program.)

On holiday last year (from New Zealand), we stayed in SF for 10 days before heading to Napa. Waitlisted for The French Laundry, and figuring we were unlikely to get a table after a three month wait, we decided to lunch a Bouchon instead. As we were about to enter Bouchon the phone rang - a table was available at the French Laundry! Bouchon for lunch and the French Laundry for dinner the next day... my stomach has had a good life too! I would love to see a review of each of the restaurants you have listed at some stage!
